To make Dynamic Optimisation optimal with AJO, we recommend setting up click tracking.
Though Dynamic Optimisation uses a Custom Action to populate your language and track opens, click tracking requires a bit of extra setup.
Adobe may charge for use of its Destination feature. Connect with your Adobe representative to discuss what fees will be incurred.
Written walkthrough
1. Request Jacquard Amazon s3 credentials
To start, you'll need Jacquard to set up a special Amazon s3 bucket to receive your click tracking events from AJO.
Reach out to your Jacquard Customer Success representative to start this process. When the bucket has been created, your Customer Success representative will provide you with your unique credentials to create your Destination.
2. Create Destination in Adobe Journey Optimizer
Navigate to Connections > Destination > Catalog
Search for S3 and click Set up (or Configure new destination)
Paste the S3 access key and S3 secret key supplied by Jacquard in the appropriate section
Select Datasets as the Data type
Give it a meaningful Name
Add the Bucket and Folder Path provided by Jacquard
Press Next
Select a Marketing Action governance label as appropriate for your organisation (this is optional and could be none)
Press Create
3. Activate Destination
Navigate to the Destination
Click Export datasets
Select AJO Email Tracking Experience Event Dataset
Schedule on daily frequency
Click Finish
The frequency of the export is limited to three, six, eight, or 12 hours. None of these are sufficient to optimise the experiment on click rates. However, sharing click data is still useful for holistic reporting and language model training. Therefore, it is only necessary to schedule this export on a daily frequency.
