SFMC - Dynamic Optimisation - Editing Jacquard Variants After Pushing to Salesforce

You can edit variants after initialisation in Contact Builder

Updated over a week ago

Once you've initialised your Jacquard dynamic experiment with the Start optimisation button, you'll be unable to make changes to your variants in the Jacquard platform.

If you do need to make a change to your variants after they've already been pushed to Salesforce, you'll need to follow both processes below to ensure your variant renders as you want it to when you deploy.

1. Open a support ticket

You'll need to open a support ticket using the support bug in the Jacquard platform, found at the bottom-right corner of your screen.

Choose the I need help with an integration option. In the ticket, ask us to update the variant for you in the Jacquard platform. Please make sure to paste both the original variant and what you need us to change it to in the support ticket. We'll also need the experiment URL.

We'll confirm once those changes are made on our side.

2. Change the variant in Salesforce using Contact Builder

Aside from opening the support ticket, you'll need to manually adjust the variant in question using Contact Builder.

Start by navigating to Contact Builder, located under the Audience Builder section of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Click on the Data Extensions tab.

Locate your -variants data extension and click on its name. You can find the data extension in a folder named after your Jacquard experiment. All Jacquard experiment data extensions will be contained in a folder called PhraseeData.

Click on the Records tab.

Click Edit Record.

Finally, make the necessary changes by clicking on the variant itself under the variant_text column. When you're finished, click Save.
