Certain special characters in variants cause code snippet errors

Using the following characters within Jacquard variants in a Dynamic Optimisation experiment can cause errors in the JavaScript code snippet that prevent the email from deploying.

Refrain from using the following characters in Salesforce Marketing Cloud Dynamic Optimisation experiments:

  • "

  • {

  • }

  • <

  • >

No matter what language you have in your variants, please ensure you're conducting previews and test sends before sending your live campaign.

It is best practice per Salesforce Marketing Cloud engineers to send a live deployment to a test or seed list before deploying a live email to a subscriber list.

Altering vetted scientific testing parameters

Ensure you strictly adhere to the testing parameters you discussed with your Jacquard Customer Success representative in order to ensure optimisation occurs properly.

This includes testing with the agreed upon:

  • Audience size

  • Number of language variants

  • Selection metric

  • Dynamic Optimisation drawer settings

  • Testing window

Altering any one of these parameters without first vetting the changes in methodology with Jacquard may adversely impact optimisation.
