Cordial - Straight Split Test

Use these instructions for straight splits methodology only

Updated over a week ago

Before continuing, please ensure you've created and shared your Cordial API key.

Straight splits is the methodology we use to conduct a test where you evenly divide your entire audience across all your variants.

Create a draft message in Cordial that includes your human control subject line, message content and audience.

Save your draft, and navigate to Jacquard. If you haven't already, create your Jacquard experiment.

On the results summary page, click Cordial setup in the experiment details panel on the right side of your screen.

Choose your draft Cordial message using the Select a draft message dropdown to link it to your Jacquard experiment.

Next, select Split from the Select an experiment type dropdown. Click Create experiment and Jacquard will publish the experiment to your Cordial message.

Back in Cordial, the experiment will be set up with:

  • The language variants.

  • The optimisation metric (opens or clicks) Cordial will use to select a winner. The selection metric is populated based on what you selected in Step 1 of your Jacquard experiment creation.

  • The audience will automatically be set to split evenly across all variants.

If you need to make any changes to the variants or test, you can click Delete back in the Jacquard panel. This will remove the experiment settings and all test variants from your message in Cordial and unlink the experiments.

When you're ready, simply schedule your message in Cordial. Once your experiment completes, you can export a CSV of the results from Cordial and use this to upload your data into your Jacquard experiment.
