Integrate Jacquard language into your Movable Ink campaign

Updated over 5 months ago

Now that you've gotten all the technical setup bits out of the way, it's time to generate and optimise.

Begin in Jacquard

Start by generating and approving your language variants in Jacquard as you normally would.

In the Summary view, click on the Movable Ink integration button to open the integration drawer.

Copy the experiment ID provided in the integration drawer.

Set an expected start and end time for the campaign. This will not schedule your campaign for deployment or activate it in Movable Ink. This is simply the window of time Jacquard will use to pull your engagement data.

Data sent outside this window is considered to be test data and ignored by Jacquard. If you end up pulling test data into Jacquard before you actually deploy your Movable Ink campaign, you can clear this using the Clear test data button.

Previously, an Access token needed to be selected from the dropdown but this is no longer required and the option will be removed from the platform soon.

Off to Movable Ink

Create a new campaign in Movable Ink and create a new content block using Studio.

Select the Jacquard API data source integration you configured earlier as a component and click Add to App.

In the Edit window, select Creative Settings tab from the sidebar. Under the App Settings section, paste in the experiment ID you copied from Jacquard earlier.

Change the Variant Number dropdown to pull back the correct variant from Jacquard as you build your images.

Regardless of how many variants you've actually generated in Jacquard, the dropdown menu will always display 10 variants to choose from. You should only select the numbers for variants you actually generated in Jacquard.

In the editor, highlight the text you wish to optimise and click Convert to Property.

Select Phrasee Language under Property Source. Choose Text Variant and Line 1 in the subsequent dropdown menus, as shown below.

We recommend using your human control subject line as the Property fallback text.

Use the Preview window to check how the text being returned is displayed. If you have multiple lines of text in your Jacquard variant and want to style each line differently, check out our article on styling multiline text.

Select the Movable Ink optimisation mode you wish to use for your campaign.

Ensure you set a clickthrough URL for each variant to track clicks for the optimisation.

To retain these settings, duplicate the content block to build the rest of your images.

Now, you're ready to send the campaign as you normally do. Jacquard will retrieve the results in real time based on your settings from the integration drawer.

Building your images elsewhere?

If you build your images outside of Movable Ink, you can still use the integration:

  • Set up your Jacquard experiment using the same instructions.

  • Upload your pre-built images as the background to the Jacquard content block in Movable Ink.

  • Delete the text layer.

  • Remember to update the Variant Number dropdown selected under App Settings for each image so your results are matched to the correct variant in Jacquard.
